I put it in the ignition the key does not turn

i changed the battery in my car. i didn't drive it for 7 days. I went to drive the car today and when i put the key in the ignition the key did not turn. I thought something was wrong with the chip so I went to dealership and had them cut me another key. The new key opens the door to the car but when I put it in the ignition the key does not turn.

Sounds like the ignition switch is just stuck. Here is a guide that will help with this. I would start with lubricating it as shown and then replace it if this doesn't work.

Or sometimes when. You park the steering wheel goes to a weird position grab the wheel see if there is tension if so hold it at that point turn the key see if it turns it usually will unless really broken if so see above they give good advice and so a food job here
