Replaced batteries but fob doesn't lock or unlock the door. Luckily, I can lock/unlock with the key.

There are a couple of issues that can cause this, but we are going to have to run through some testing to figure this out.

Unfortunately, this is going to require some tools that you most likely don't have and will not find.

There may be some online, but it is not worth buying them for a single use. It would be better to pay a shop to do this testing unless you are willing to sell the tool and recoup some of the money.

I am attaching the info below from the manual which will walk us through this. Just because you replaced the batteries, we can't rule out a transmitter issue. However, if the transmitter is not the issue, then it is most likely the passenger door module.

Please let me know what questions you have on this, and we can go from there.

Thanks

I tried the reset method a few times but no changes. I don't have the test equipment either. Not sure what to do next and don't want to go to a dealership.

Understood. We are at a bit of a stalemate then. I don't want to recommend guessing so without this test equipment or going to a shop, we are only left with guessing.

However, you don't have to go to a dealer. Most repair shops have a tool that will work for this so you can call around and ask if they have it.

Otherwise, I would suggest getting a new transmitter as that is the cheapest thing to just guess first. If you only have one, then this transmitter could have failed and replacing it will get it working again.

Yes. You will have to go through the programming process which will require a scan tool. However, I would contact a local locksmith. They are the cheapest and most have the tool to do this.
