I see the light when I press the fob button but it wont unlock or lock the car and when I'm in the car the car wont start even if I depress the start button using the fob itself. I have used my normal daily fob and my spare and have the same issue. it still starts it's just I have to try starting it multiple times to have it start.it does not try to turn over or anything until the time is works and it turns over no problem.

When you say you see the light when pressing the button, do you mean the key indicator light? If so, what color is it?

If this is flashing red then it means there is an issue with the message it is receiving from the key. Basically it thinks someone is trying to steal it so it doesn't allow the start.

If it is flashing green and it still doesn't start, then I would suspect there is an issue with the key-less receiver sending the info to the rest of the modules that it is okay to start the engine.

Let me know and we can go from there. Thanks

Since this is flashing red that means that the receiver is not recognizing the key. Since you are using both keys it is unlikely that it is the battery in the key is weak. However, this is where we need to start because this info does say that the system will notify you when it is weak but it doesn't tell you how other than to perform the battery check as described.

Basically this is saying to get in the vehicle turn the ignition to on without starting the engine. Then after 30 seconds just turn it off. If you have the key indicator as in cluster type B then it should be green. If not, then replace the battery.

I am not sure I follow. I don't believe you have one. You have an electric key and all you need to do is have the key in the vehicle and then press the button so that it is "on" and then continue with the steps.

Was there another reason you needed this key?
