Will not crank

Hi,

It sounds like you lost spark to the plugs. I suspect it may be related to the ignition control module in the distributor. To confirm, we need to check for diagnostic trouble codes. This vehicle has an OBD1 system and it doesn't require a scan tool to retrieve codes. All that is needed is a short jumper wire or even a paper clip. Do this first and let me know what you find.

I have a feeling you will retrieve a code 42. However, check first and then we will know what directions to move.

The link above explains how it's done. All you need to do is jump pins A and B on the DLC under the dash. See pic 1.

Okay buddy, I am doing what you said and everything is okay. well, I went to go use the test light to see if I was getting fire to my coil and then i just touch the top of the cab and the light turned on. so i turn off truck took out the fuse and the light still on and i'm just touching metal.

What is it that you are touching to get power? If it is the OBD port, it has 12v all the time. Also, what fuse are you referring to? I'm getting confused. LOL
