2007 Jeep Wrangler Seat Belt locks

2007 Jeep Wrangler 46000 miles

The passenger side seat belt locks up after about a foot. Have pulled off the side panel and it has not twisted up in there. Have tried with engine running, not running foot on the brake, foot off the brake, and yet, nothing.

I had the same problem with my 1999 Wrangler SE. It would lock about a foot after you pull it out, and once you actually get it pulled down, it would lock in the buckle assembly. This is a manufacture defect from what I was told by Chrysler, and can only be fixed if you bring it to a service shop, or buy a new assembly yourself and fix it.
