2006 Jeep Wrangler Starter ?

My Jeep will not start. When I turn the key I get a click, click. When I hook up jumper cables it doesn't help. could this be my starter ? Is there anything else I should be looking into ?

if you tap on starter with hammer and it cranks. replace starter. do this while somebody is turning key . if not it could be your connections main starter wire or grounds . or it could still be a faulty starter . if if you try turning your key for run to start and one of those times it cranks you have a faulty solinoid. its on top of the starter
