I recently dropped the transmission pan, replaced the filter and filled it back up with the 4 quarts that I was originally told it needed. have looked for leaks several times since and it has been dry. So yesterday I couldn't catch a gear leaving my house, hopped out and checked and no fluid on the stick. Got to reading online and someone said there is an initial fill, then a final fill. I put two more quarts in it last night after letting it run in neutral for awhile. Filled and checked several times. Now I have a total of 6 quarts in it. and to boot, I'm worried if I've caused premature damage now driving it so low on fluid. So should I expect to have to put more in it?
