Electrical problem
2006 Jeep Wrangler 6 cyl Four Wheel Drive Manual 70K miles
For the past couple of weeks my jeep has been sluggish starting. It is acting like it is really cold outside, and starting to crank very slowly until it finally winds up and starts. The other day it didn't start at all, but accepted a jump very quickly. The next time I turned it off it refused to start again, jump or not. The radio and lights still work, so I'm thinking that the battery isn't completely dead? But it does ablsoutely nothing when turning the key. No slow cranking, nothing. I'd like to fix the problem myself rather than bring it to a mechanic, but need to be sure of the faulty part before I buy a new one to replace it with. Is it the starter? Ignition? Solenoid? Alternator? Battery? Some combination thereof? Thanks!
