Transmission problem
2002 Jeep Wrangler 4 cyl Four Wheel Drive Manual

i have replaced the clutch, pressure plate, bearing, and slave cylinder inside the trans. i have repeatedly bled the line coming from the resevior and can not get the clutch pedal to stay firm. i end up pumping the pedal to get the clutch to work but as soon as i get down the road and need to shift again i have to start the process over again. the only time it works good is rite after its been bled. when i put the new slave in i made sure to read the directions and installed it properly, not removing the keepers that came on it from the manufacturer. please help, shiftless

Sounds like the only part left is the clutch master. It is just like a brake master and can suck air in if the seals start going bad.If you have a pedal, then you have most likely bled it properly, for it to go away means air is being introduced into the system. Look at the back of the master under the dash for any signs of leaking or sweating where the rod goes in from the pedal, this isnt 100% but usually a good indicator of the problem
