i have a 2002 jeep my question is when apply the breaks and gently release preasure, so it will move in reverse, i'm going supper slow, i hear a poping sound and when i open the door i can see the tire and it looks like im rolling over something, but im on a flat service, if i let off the breaks it stops, what do you think this might be.

Sorry about the late post!!! Sounds like the shoes have come loose and are binding. Pull the hub off and inspect. Also, check the shoes to make sure they are on correctly. The smaller surface shoe should be on the front or towards the front of the vehicle. You may have to look closely but the smaller shoe belongs on front and this happens alot (being installed wrong) this causes a binding on the shoe also. If the brakes look ok try lifting the rear end off the ground and testing like yoiu were. Let me know back ok. Also be careful running a vehicle when in the air. Let me know Curt
