Originally my jeep was starting up rough almost as if it was going to die out.
After a few days of this I was driving and my jeep died and the power steering went out.
It died out 2-3 times before I could get it about 1/8 of a mile to my home. I had to restart it each time and it was hopping as if the gears needed to shift. After this I went back down and started it up to look at the engine while it ran. During this process it died out completely and will not start back up. It will not turn over/crank. A mechanic came to look at my vehicle and said everything with the engine was fine but that the computer was not starting everything up properly. Ordered a new computer, properly programmed to the correct vin, etc.
The vehicle after installing the computer is doing the exact same thing. Will not turn over. Lights on dash and headlights all turn on.
The mechanic that was helping me has said on 2 occasions now that he was going to come take a look since I already paid him to diagnose the problem. Can not seem to reach him during the day when he is supposedly coming to take another look.
Anyone have any insight on any other possible issues that could be existing? Someone said crank shaft sensor at the place I purchased the computer but it was just replaced about 4 months ago, along with a brand new block and rebuilt engine. I'm at a loss currently. My family all lives far away and I relocated for school and work. Any assistance or insight would be greatly appreciated.
