1995 Jeep Wrangler thermostat and thermostat housing

1995 Jeep Wrangler 4 cyl Four Wheel Drive Manual

the vehicle wasnt heating so i replaced the thermostat. now the thermostat housing is leaking, i have changed the gasket 3 times now and its still leaking. what is the problem? it is leaking on the drivers side of the thermostat housing towards the bottom

The following procedure is requiring for proper replacement of the thermostat on the wrangler. If everything have been done following this procedure, let me know or if you have forgotten something, you can correct it and still let me know how thing goes. It is not necessary to disconnect or remove any of the hoses. Remove the two attaching screws and lift the housing from the engine. Remove the thermostat and the gasket. Thoroughly clean off any remaining gasket material. To install: Place the thermostat in the housing with the spring toward the engine.

All thermostats are marked on the outer flange to indicate the proper installed position. Position a new gasket with a small amount of sealing compound applied to both sides. Install the water outlet and tighten the attaching bolts to 13-15 ft. lbs. (18-20 Nm). Refill the cooling system.
