When I put my jeep in 4 wheel drive the front wheels don't pull. I have put it in gear while stoped and the tranverse case has engaged the drive shaft to the front and will disengage the shaft in neutral but no wheel engagement. You can tell the difference in 4 wheel low in the gear ratio when pulling.
