1988 Jeep Wrangler 4 wheel drive

when I put it in 4 wheel drive it feel like its in but the light on the dash does not come on and the front wheel are not pulling.

There is a vaccum pot on the passenger side of the front axle that ingages the front axle. Make sure the lines are connected. This pc does quit quite often and may need replaced. Curt
