While replacing a freeze plug I pushed it too far inside the hole. While trying to retrieve it, the plug fell inside the cavity. I can not find it and ask if there is a danger from it being inside. Can I just install another freeze plug?
Thank you for your help.

i have never heard of that causing damage, it will doubtly flow up to the collant passages and plug them up.

sadly to say youll have fun getting it out, best way is to try and fish it up to where it went in and bend it and pull it out.

Thank you for your answer. I also thought the same thing, that it would eventually plug up the coolant flow. I wish I had a diagram of the cavity area behind the plug hole. I will try to snake it out tomorrow. Again thank you for your reply.

Sincerely
