I have a 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee that I drive once a week. A couple weeks it started hard like the battery was dying. This week I opened the door and the lights inside didn't come on and the power door locks wouldn't work. Needless to say putting the key in the ignition did nothing (No Power!). I tried chrging the battery but the needle on the charger never. I took the battery to a chain auto parts place and the guy was too busy to test the battery so I bought a new one. Once I hooked it up I still had the same problem. Is this a battery cable problem? The contacts are clean and are making solid contact with the posts. Any ideas? How do I fix it (do I have to get it towed to a mechanic?

Can the Jeep be starteed with a jump? Connect the jumping car with the negative clamp on an engine ground.

see if what merlin2021 asked but also check to see if your getting power to the starter (the biger cable) if so then the probblem could be one of the grounds there are 6 grounds on that jeep the most comon that goes out is the one that runs from the body to the exhaust pipe then to the trans it one solid wire
