i have a 2000 grand cherokee 6 cyl the rear driver side tail light assembly needed to be replaced three times. i finally went to after market tail lights but i noticed that the lenes had melted spots on them but only on the brake lights .at the same time inside the truck the center shift console lights don't work when the overhead console lights are on and when the center console lights are on the overhead don't work.and the fan speed swithch is only partly lit and the turn signal stalk dosen't light anymore and once the doorlocks and windows stop working but they started working again [img:5d0d71c2a7]http://www.2carpros.com/forum/automotive_pictures/126893_2000_grand_cherokee_1.jpg[/img:5d0d71c2a7]

Start checking the grounds. First spot I would start at is the tailight. The board warps and loses ground causing strange things like your having. The board is not avaialable separately, but part of the whole light assy.

I'm going to send you some diagrams. When I first read the post I thought the brake lights had gone out at the same time. Thus thinking into the ground. I don't know that the problems are related but would go after them one at a time. IF they are related, the common denominator appears to be the BCM. Now if that is the problem, it may just need to be flashed.

But things I would start checking are still the grounds to start with.
G300 is under the driver's seat.
G201 is near the glove box lamp switch.

Check your email for the diagrams shortly.

This still sounds like a ground issue.

I suspect when you have both light's lit & look at the bulbs (out of the lens assembly) you will see both filiments glowing dimly ... This indicates a
bad ground... Not grounded enough to carry the amps needed for both filiments of the bulb to work...

Check the rubber plug behind the lights & pull the wires out, about 4 inches in is another connector... Check this connector for a bad connection at the connector as it may be corroded based on how many times you have had to deal with this.
