idles roughs and sometimes idles real fast whether cold or hot engine.

i would suspect a vaccum leak or maybe a sticky EGR valve since its only once in a while the high idling.

if those all check out good check the pcv valve, if its good it should rattle.

if all else fails probably a dirty throttle body or bad IAC module.
