I have a 2003 Jeep Liberty 2wd V-6, & a few days ago, I noticed a grinding noise coming from my serpentine belt area.
At first I thought is was from my power steering pump, because the noise got louder as I turned the steering wheel. I then noticed that the noise was coming from the passenger side of the engine compartment, the power steering pump is on the driver side.
I checked the belt and it is a little worn on the front side of the belt, facing the radiator. I switched off the A/C and noticed that the noise is louder than when the A/C is on.
What could this be, the water pump, A/C compressor, ???
Any advise would be appreciated.
