my driver's window will not close. i can hear the motor when i press the button, but the window will not go up.

Hello –
You need to remove the door panel to inspect. Most likely your window regulator cable is broken. Many times these come as complete assemblies with the motor attached. This is many times cheaper and……wiser…..if the cable broke the motor is just as old………replace both.
