I have a problem with my Jeep Liberty 03 that seems to be common with these cars. My car shakes or turns off at a stop or light. Other then that the car runs fine but still gas mileage is not great. I saw online that it might be a dirty throttle body so I cleaned it, but problem continued. I then noticed a hissing sound and it turned out to be a length wise cut/tear on the small rubber hose connected to the T and coming from the throttle body. Someone suggested to tape it up with electrical tape so I did the cars RPM does not go up and down so much but it still shakes or stops at a stop or light?
1) I wonder where I can get a replacement hose or at least something that is better than tape?
2) could it be something esle?

This problem does not happen all the time sometimes the car will run for a couple of days with no problem. I figure it must be a sensor or the hose that sometimes during driving does not connect well.

Please help me, my car is my only way to work, and I can't afford to have problems with it.

A vacuum leak like you describe can cause your problems.Any auto parts store will have some vacuum line that you can replace the cracked line with.If you can see both ends, I suggest replacing the entire line so it doesnt develop a leak somewhere else later down the line

Is the check engine light on? If so you may need to have the PCM scanned to see what trouble codes have been stored. These will ususally point to the cylinder that is misfiring, giving us a starting point.
