Ball joint removal on a 1997 V8 grand cherokee

When you remove the wheel, you will see three bolts that hold the hub to the steering knuckle. Remove those and pull the whole thing out. This will let you move the knuckle further. Remove the tie rod end, being careful not to mess it up. then remove the knuckle from the ball joints. You will likely destroy both of them getting the knuckle to come off, so be prepaired to replace both upper and lower, they are fairy cheap.
I know it's close quarters, but you will have to work in the wheel well with the ball joint press, unless you want a TON of extra work to do. A good 3lb hammer comes in handy to beat the crap out of it while pressing it out.
When you are pressing the new one in, be sure to use the proper cup.
