2001 Jeep Laredo engine overheates while at a stop

2001 Jeep Laredo 6 cyl Four Wheel Drive Automatic

I replaced the temperature senser and now suspect that the fan or the fan relay may be faulty? The jeep only gets hot when sitting still for a short time, while moving the temp is normal.

This is a good indication that your water pump is bad and needs replaced and while you are at it, replace your t-stat too.
