1993 Jeep Laredo oil pump or sending unit?

1993 Jeep Laredo 6 cyl Four Wheel Drive Automatic

if the oil gauge spikes during accelaration then drops back to below half way(thats where it has been for about 2 years) i think the oil pressure is suppose to be around 1/2 to 3/4 of the gauge.

Hi:
Oil pressure should be between 13PSI at an idle to 65 PSI at a high RPM. Chances are this is being caused by a bad oil sending unit. That is where I would start.

Let me know if it fixes it.
