2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee won't idle

my jeep is idling very low and will sometime die out unless i run the a/c. i've had it to different garages and one person told me it was the throttle cable and he adjusted it. rpm's still weren't up where they should be. a couple people told me that it sounds like the iac. i'm so frustrated that i'm thinking of just buying one and have it put in.
could it possibly be anything else. the iac sounds like it could correct my problem

Try cleaning out the idle air control valve and see what happens-
