1985 Jeep CJ7. As far as I can tell, it has a stock carb. The fuel line from the in-line fuel filter to the carb is a hard line, with a J-bend that screws into the carb. The part that screws in to the carb broke off.

I tried to replace it, but now the carb overflows with gasoline. I noticed on the old piece there was a small triangular rod-shaped piece with a rubber (?) cone at the tip that fit inside the piece that screws into the carb. Does that limit the amount of fuel entering the carb? What is this piece called, and where can I find one?

Thanks in advance!!
Brian

thats called the needle. there should be a seat with a rubber o ring that it rests against to stop the flow of fuel. if you purchase a rebuild kit for the carb it comes with everything you need to rebuild it and even has a detailed picture of everything. the overhaul kit is real cheap and can be bought at any parts store. you will need the numbers off the carburetor body.

Thank you! For $12 I picked up a carb rebuild kit and the piece I needed was included!

Now to determine whether to rebuild the carb or just replace the piece. But that's another question.

Thanks again!
