1981 Jeep CJ7 tachometer and turn signals stopped working

1981 Jeep CJ7 4 cyl Four Wheel Drive Manual

While sitting in my Jeep warming the engine up, all of a sudden the tachometer quit working. I checked all fuses and found the turn signal fuse blown. I replaced this fuse, but still no tach or signals. The signals were working before the tach went out, how are these two items related? I have checked the signal fuse multiple times and it has not blown again, also the four way flashers work just fine. Can you help?

Check the below diagram. The Red line (which is actually yellow) is run off the same fuse. Check this wire for shorts or burns. You may need to completely remove the instrument panel to verify the integrity of the tachometer internals to verify they were not damaged due to a current overload.
