I have a 75 CJ5 that has set up for several years. The jeep was running fine when parked. After getting it home and changing all fluiids except gas, I wanted to see if it would fire. It wasnt getting fuel so i replaced the fuel pump, and added 3 inline filters to keep trash out of the carb. IT STARTED. didnt run long but it started. I added fresh fuel and ran it for about an hour or so until the filters stopped up. I then bought a new gas tank, installed it, change filters, used starting fluid and got it running again. I drove it a couple miles brought it back home and now it is not pumping gas. Remind you the fuel pump is new. Is it possible that the fuel pump is full of trash now? Can I set it in a can of berrymans overnight and re-install or should I replace it. I took the line loose before the carb, truned the engine over and no fuel. Thoughts?
