Have a 2000 Jeep Cherokee. Just this week the oil pressure has been running high. I have 10w-30 in it. Last oil change a month ago (I actually had it done when new tires and alignment done) I always do myself otherwise - but it was on a lift and it needed it . I noticed they only charged me for 5 qts even though its a six cylinder. I always add 6 qts when I change it.
Jeep usually runs 40-60 psi. Idles at 30 psi. This week it idles at 60 and runs at 75-80 psi.
Any thoughts? Could it be a bad oil filter (I always use a Fram but the Goodyear put in a cheaper brand when they changed the oil).
Changed oil and oil filter this morning and it still reads what it was ??
Could it be the oil pressure relief valve? Is it easy to change yourself and anyone know where its located on a Jeep Cherokee?
Any other possibilities?
