I have a 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee with 63000 miles. It was purchase as a used vehicle in 1989 with 17000 miles. I have taken it to the same dealer for service since the purchase.
Last year I had a problem with the passenger side getting wet. I took it in for that problem and had them do additional servicing. I got the car back a few days later. The wetness problem hadn't been addressed. I was told it took too long to get behind the dash and they hadn't been able to duplicate the problem.
A month later, I took it back with standing water filling the entire passenger compartment. The water was drained, the water pump was replaced and carpets cleaned.
Since that time, I've heard a gushing water behind the center console (behind the radio) upon accelleration. I've taken it in 7 times and still have the problem. The dealer has taken it to a body shop and had excess water drained from the body, drilled holes to get additional water out. I still have the gushing water sound upon accelleration. The service manager is supposedly addressing the problem. Got it back and couldn't duplicate the problem.
This past weekend, my son and husband were in the car with me. They heard it upon accelleration.
I've asked the dealer to check with tech support from Chrysler, but they say their tech can't find anything.
Help! I've already invested $3000.00 in the repair and it's not fixed. I can't afford to put out more money and because I'm a woman, I'm feeling that being brushed off.
