I have a 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee with a 4.7 L V8 engine and about 34,000 miles on it.
When I brought it in to my local Chrysler dealer for a routine oil change, they also told me that it needed new front brake pads (the mechanic said they were down to 10 %), and most likely also new rear pads. Total cost of front and back, including turning rotors, would be $450.
Brakes have never been serviced before, but currently make no noise when stopping. My question is: does this seem reasonable? Do pads typically need replacing after 30,000 + miles?
Thanks.
