There is a sound as though my tire is losing air coming from behind the drivers side back tire. It only makes the sound when the vehicle is running. I have just purchased the vehicle a month ago and the noise has been noticed immediately. My mechanic did not know enough about the model to diagnose the problem.

If you only hear it when it runs, could it be the fuel pump? Also, are you leaking any gas?

In that area, either you are hearing an exhaust leak or the fuel pump running. Can you hear the noise when you turn the key on without starting the engine just for a second or two? If so, that is the pump. If not, check for an exhaust leak where the different components join together. Look for spots that are covered with black soot from the leak.

Let me know what you find.

I turned the key with out turning on the engine and did not hear the noise. It seems to be only when the engine is running. I looked at the exhaust pipe and there was black soot around the end of it but that is all that I was able to inspect at that time. I will inspect closer and reply back! Thanks so much for the help!!!

Remember the fuel pump will only run for a couple seconds with the engine not running.
