Recently I have started having problems with my jeeps starting RPMs. Normally it starts and peaks at about 1350 RPM and drops fairly quickly to about 850 RPM. Lately the starting RPM is about 2000 and as it comes to idle the engine races and RPMs will fluctuate erratically. Every so often it acts like its not getting any air and doesn't want to start. While in motion the RPMs continue to swing about 150-200 but not quite enough for the transmission to shift. Do I have an IAC valve problem?

Thanks in advance.

Hello,

First take off the IAC and clean it. It just may have some build up. Then check for vacuum leaks, cracked hoses etc.
