2002 Jeep Cherokee Hum at 20mph

There's a high pitched hum that only starts at 20mph. It doesn't happen when I'm turning or applying the brakes. The Power Steering Fluid (and all other fluids) is at the proper level. Any ideas?

Have your wheel bearings checked. Sounds like they are worn.

I believe the last post answered your question but also try this. While driving carefully veer or steer one direction and then back the other way. The humming will probably quite in one direction. So if you steer to the left and it stops then it is probably that side bearing that is making the noise. And visa versa the other side. Reason being when you turn one direction SAY left the left bearing actually has less downward force on it and would make it less noisy. Hope we helped you. Curt
