Hey guys im new with this forum and hope i can get help over here--- i have a 2000 Jeep cherokee 4wd 6cyl 4.0 liter engine and i noticed a rattle and straining on the engine a couple days ago but made nothing of it, a few days later it got worse and i stopped driving it and opened the hood to see the compressor pulley shaking and not running smoothly so im assuming the bearings are shot on the pulley, so i then tried the a/c and it kicked on for a second and shut off, it did that twice and im not sure if the a/c works anymore because of the compressor failing or perhaps because the pully is shot and not running smoothly and causing it to fail, i dont know much about compressors so im not sure how it works,now my questions are as followes, can i change just the pulley?, do i change the compressor? is it difficult?
