1999 Jeep Cherokee Engine Temp way up

I noticed the other day that there was some liquid on the driveway that had a rust color to it. After some inspection into the front drivers side wheel well and under the hood, i supsect that the radiator hose has a hole in it. This mornig i was told by my wife that the check gauge light came on and by the time she got across town to work the temp gauge was at it's highest temp. Does it sound like the Hose is bad? And can I add some extra anti-freeze until I'm able to get it to the shop?

When you pop your hood you should have a clear antifreeze resivoir on the left hand side. Check the level of the fluid there. If it's low that means the engine lost fluid and had to draw more from the resivoir to top it up. You can add more into that resivoir just make sure you use a premixed antifreeze (antifreeze needs to be mixed with water, by using premix it is already mixed and is ready to pour into your engine.)

Hard to determine where your truck is leaking the fluid, could be from a hose, the radiator, the water pump etc.

Try parking your jeep in a clean parking spot, and then look at the pavement underneath the jeep, reference where you see the puddle to the location on the jeep directly above it and you should see the general area where the leak is, and will possibly see a wet spot or drip on the truck.
