1998 Jeep Cherokee what is going on?

I ran into this very problem once before. It was a door latch. The latch was making the car think the door was opening so the dome lights came on. I had every door panel off and the back liftgate panel. Finally, I determined that the liftgate latch switch was bad. I replaced it and all was better!
