1995 Jeep Cherokee help my kids get to school

3 forward gears ok,but no reverse.feels like it engages,but nothing.also when driving forward and put in neutral,rear end locks up.please help only transportation for kids school....thank you mary

the rear end locks up when you put it in neutral.

and you can not move the truck backwards, but you can "feel" the transmission do something.

hopefully you just have a problem with the rear brakes.
worse case is there is something wrong in the rear differential.
