Shakes VIOLENTLY when brakes applied

Try to find out when it is happening. If it is consisentent when braking from higher speeds when the braking is the most severe and creates the most heat, Raz is right on the rotors. Do you have rear disc brakes or drum brakes?

Also as far as the steerng dampner is concerned, it has to be the heavy duty one not the standard one. I know napa offers both. However you need to find a counterman that is capable of going the extra step to finding it.

-thanks[/quote:1fab4c68d2] I have a 1996 and have had the same problem .... after talking with a guy at work that used to work for crysler he said this was a common problem with front brake calipers wearing and heating up did you change the calipers when you did your brake job?? It worked for me. Hope this helps.

Seized caliper can create erratic braking. It can also warp the rotors which can lead to vibration under braking.
