1993 Jeep Cherokee wont go into gear?

i have a 93 jeep cherokee sport and even with the clutc all of the way to the floor it is super hard to get in to 1st and 2nd gears some times i have to turn the jeep off to put it in gear any help would be greatly appetrciated
