Both power seats in my Cherokee, 127,000 miles, quit working. I cannot find a bad fuse anywhere, the owners manual does not mention power seat fuse, nor does a Chiltons book. I do not have power too the seats, I checked the input wires with a digital meter. As far as I can tell, everything else seems to work. Where does the wiring get its power? I am setting up the Jeep to be towed by my motorhome and I need to adjust the seat for the brake unit.

what you need to do is find a wiring schematic. i would try going to the dealer to see if they can print you a copy of the power seat schematic to see where the circuit goes. also look to see if it runs on a relay. good luck

Did you ever find out the problem? My 1992 Cherokee Briarwood (121,000 miles) has the same problem and I can't find any in-line fuse. The seats just suddenly stopped working. The circuit breaker works because the door locks work and they are on the same breaker.

Thanks

No, never found the problem. I ran a new wire, with in line fuse, from the battery (this way I do not need the ignition on to adjust the seat) to the power lead to the seat. It controls both seats.

Thanks for your response. Sounds like what I will do also. Do you know what amp in-line fuse you used?

I had this problem in my 1991 briarwood. Took seats and carpet out and found corroded wiring that needed a section replaced.

Thanks for the addition. That is great info. I am attaching the seat diagram for others if they need it.

Also, here is a guide that will help others possibly find the same issue you did with your wiring:

Thanks again.
