Whenever I turn my wheel either left or right it makes a high pitch squealing sound. I checked the power steering fluid and it is full. I also noticed that when I hit over 25mph a sound is coming from the front left tire. Almost sounds like 'da da, da da' (lol) i was just wondering if it sounds like the cv joint or maybe the axle?! It is quite rusty underneath. Thank YOU!

Actuall, it sounds more like a brake sensor saying the brake pads are worn. Also, make sure the backing plate behind the rotor isn't bent or rusted and touching the rotor. Finally, a CV joint will make a clicking sound when you make a sharp turn.

Let me know what you find.

I own a factory '88/4X4/4.0 and it doesn't have CV joints in the front. It has universal joints just the drive-shaft. When one goes bad, it wil make a crunching sound in hard turns and the 4X4 really shouldn't be engaged until it is replaced. doing so may risk further damage and more $ in repairs.
