Engine will rotate, but will not start. Replaced coil because of open circuit.

See my profile. No spark at plugs, implies an ignition system problem. Do you have spark on a removed and grounded plug?

If you have spark, shoot a little gas or starter fluid into intake, If it fires, or tries to start, you may have a fuel issue.

Whatcha got?

No Spark and coil was replaced because of open secondary winding. Still no spark! What should the voltage be at the primary connection to the coil?

We are looking at CJ manual, cause thats the rigs I own, CJs !

Remove plastic connector and output high tension wire too, JUST a blank coil now, between POS and NEG posts you should have, AROUND (on CJ, I'd say you would be in the ballpark) 1.13--1.23 OHMs---- NOT Volts......Says if you got that, coil is OK.

With coil hooked up, ready to crank, you should have 12 volts, (batt voltage) GOING TO POSITVE TERMINAL ON COIL WITH THE KEY IN THE ON POSITION.

If you don't, we can TEMPORARILY "CHEAT" to it from BATTERY POS.To COIL POSITIVE....VIA A JUMPER WIRE...thus eliminating the key-TO-coil.....wiring, etc. systems.

(If no fire up then) go ahead and do this, NOW. before or after "Cheating"-------Take your IGNITION MODULE OFF and take it to Autozone or Advance Auto and have it tested (3-5) times. (FREE FREE FREE) to insure it is not the problem.

Sound like a plan? Keep me updated.

I know the coil is good, because the test reveiled an open secondary and I replaced it. However, I will take the module in and have it tested.
Thanks
