1998 Jaguar XK8 V8 70000 miles

i'm getting a strong smell of exhaust fumes when i role down a window. Don't smell anything with the windows up. Exhaust on car stainless steel and in good shape.

when do you smell the fumes ? it could be from other vehicles ?
