I am interested in buying a 1995 Jag with 91000 miles. Car overheated and 5 hoses were replaced at Jag dealer. One owner car that has been pampered with money being no object. Problem is that in photos heat gauge is still at hot even after repairs were made and both check engines lights are on .Engine was runninbg when photos were taken. Does this indicate that computor needs to be re-set, gauge needs replacement or could it be a serious engine problems.

Personally I think I would find another Jag if that is what you have your heart set on.If it has been overheated and now it runs rough and the temp gauge shows hot, it isnt a very good sign. The check engine light may be from the initial overheating, but I doubt it since the car is OBD-1, it is possible but unlikely.

Thanks for your quick response. Car runs smooh and dealer is driving it. But do you think gauge could be stuck or a minor problem. I am not trying to get you to say car is okay just need an opinion.

Gauge may be inop, but then how did they know it was overheated if gauge didnt work? my guess is that the car still runs hot. HAv eit checke dout by another tech before you buy it.A $60 dollar diagnosis could save you thousands in the long run
