I have a 1994 Jag XJS 4.0 6 cyl with 105k miles. Last week I was on the highway (I think I went over a tiny speed bump) and the engine went dead. I managed to pull to the side, and had the car towed to the front of the house.
Upon checking everything I realized that I have no fuel and no spark. I checked the fuel pump (jumped it directly) and it works. Also the fuel pump relay is good. I replaced the main relay as well as the crankshaft sensor which both could have been causes for the no spark/no fuel problem. Also checked the ignition coil and air mass meter and they are both ok. Also fuel shut off switch is in the right position. If anyone has any ideas or suggestions they would be greatly appreciated. I am not ready to give up on this car yet!
