My instrument panel has the limp mide light on. I had the purge valve replaced after a diagnostic and the limp mode light still comes on. Code reads FF39. What does that mean?

this is an EGR (exhaust gas recirculation) code. you first need to check the EGR valve for proper operating. you can do this by using a vacuum pump and applying vacuum to the rubber line on the EGR valve. if the idle drops or the car dies, it is working. if nothing happens check the egr diaphragm inside for tears. if it looks good check for blockages. replace as needed.
