1999 Jaguar XJ8 Radio went out

The battery in my Jag went dead after it hadn't been driven for a few days. We jumped the battery and the radio hasn't come on since. Do you think we shorted the radio out somehow when we jumped the battery or do you think it's a safety precaution and there's a way to override it?
