hi I just purchased a 98 Jaguar xj8 with 80k miles. On start up, if the car has been sitting for a while I hear a tapping noise comming from top end. After I hit the gas a few times it automatically stops making the noise and sounds perfect. Its only on start up when the oil has to make its way to the top of the engine again, i guess. Does this sound like a quick fix? what could be the problem and the cost for that problem to fix?
Other than that the car runs and drive perfect. Just on startup a tapping noise then it quiets down within 30 seconds. Sometimes like I said If I hit the gas a little it stops right away.
