Is it possible or money reasonable to switch out the self-leveling rear shock to a less expensive gas shock. i beleive it is an electrostatic system since i hear no compressor.that said, would i have electrical problems with the onboards if i were to cut it off or would it just give me a dash light or something.

The self leveling system was used from '88 to '94 and it didn't work for long. Yes, you are better off changing to a gas strut. I believe Monroe makes a replacement, but they are hard to find. Jaguar sells a retrofit kit, but it's spendy. You will also have to disconnect and plug the feed line at the valve on the right front well. If you have hydraulic boost on your brakes, it's also part of this system.
